Some things in life are simply beautiful, one of which is nature and more specifically flowers. When shooting innately beautiful subjects one would think that half the job is already completed and all that is left is to push record, the opposite actually holds true. The camera has the ability to bring the mundane alive through narrative but also can cloud a beautiful scene by focusing on too wide a palette. We want to bring angles and objects to the forefront that would normally be missed.
A lot of people ask me the purpose of this reel. Unlike other reels there is no specific industry focus; this is by design. This piece takes you through some of what we have done and certainly where we have been in 2012. The production of a video is a collaborative process, I want to let people in on our aesthetic, how we edit, the emotion that we try to infuse into projects as well as the variety of projects that we have worked on.
A follow-up to 2011’s Summer’s Fall the majority of the footage used in this reel went unused, for one reason or another, throughout 2012. Everything was shot on-set, while traveling, or just out and about.
